Women of History. Some Questions.

MARTHA MITCHELL, 1976, WHY WAS THIS OUT-SPOKEN WOMEN KIDNAPPED? James McCord, Jr., employed as Chief of Security for Mitchell's Committee to Re-elect Richard Nixon, was one of the five men arrested. McCord was formerly employed by the CIA for 19 years. His position with the CIA was Chief of Security over the entire grounds, the immense compound at Langley, Virginia.
Nine persons, all registered with false names taken from CIA novels written by Howard Hunt, stayed at the Watergate Hotel May 26-29 and again June 17 & 18. Five of them, the night of their arrest, had been discovered when security guard Frank Wills noticed pieces of Scotch tape over the door locks. Washington police arrived and made the arrests.
All of the five men caught in the Democratic headquarters were connected with the CIA in some way. The other relationship they had in common was having worked together for the CIA-planned Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.

I am a wildly passionate mixed old bag. I wear many hats and I walk in all kinds of shoes, including no shoes. I come from a long line of pioneer ancestors to whom I owe my tremendous spirit of curiosity, adventure and creativity. Neither getting into the rat race nor staying in a rut has ever been in my nature. I have lived as a surburban housewife, a single mother/grandmother, an excentric artist, a barefoot sea explorer, an inter-racial counselor and diplomat for the UN and the Peace Corps, an advocate for imigratant rights, a mentor for single creative entrapraneur mothers, and most of all a student of starting life all over again in strange situations.

Random Thoughts of A Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Artist.

A woman on a big exciting mission: To help heal the world by working with others to educate ourselves and each other and to promote higher & healthier levels of understanding and action. Education then needs to be followed by creative-rethinking of everything we learned in school; and upgrade our meditation and actions. My personal focus is on down-sizing, going raw, organic, slow and small; reducing waste and increasing artistic self-expression. We live in a very addicted world, our life-styles and personalities are not built on factors that make us healthy, wealthy and wise in the deeper meaning of those words, but are built on community and global addictions. It's about power and control; a fear and greed based insensitive, vengeful attitude starting from the top that is contageous and it underlies the messy, bloody, dirty side of the world we live in. Huh? Horrors that I should say such things! But you know it's true.

am involved in urban-homesteading & living lean, green & simple with people of all races, religions and "classes". I have been organic, pro-active, holistic, and back to basics since the mid 1970's and very spent 20 years of my life living and working as the only white person in obscure villages of the West Indies and 10 years as a misfit back in my own USA. I know the pain of rejection from people of other cultures as well as from people of my own culture. I know the love of healthy acceptance too. I have the wounds to remind myself and others to keep on searching, learning, and practicing better ways each and every day to help others to do the same.
